Welcome

Welcome to the Sheila Edmondson Foundation for Education (Sheed Foundation). The aim of this organisation is to provide specialist support for students of mathematics and science. We essentially work alongside schools, reinforcing what is being taught, and providing students with extra material which compliments what is being done at school. This means that schools are being supported indirectly.
There appears to be a universal struggle to get students to perform well in mathematics and science. Those who do well are usually students who are already highly motivated. We do believe however that with the right level of support, more students could be encouraged to pursue these disciplines and excel at them.

We work with individual students and try to establish their interests, weaknesses and strengths. We then develop a programme that compliments the mathematics and science programmes they are already following at school. The idea is to provide rich and exciting resources as well as continuous support, to stimulate interest and motivate students to succeed. We hope that through this approach, there will be an improvement in the number of students enjoying and excelling in the disciplines of mathematics and science.
